With the announcement of the general election, the worst thing we could do is to think because of all the polls, it is a forgone conclusion. We all need to vote, everyone needs to vote and hopefully we will see some much needed change for good!

.@GillianKeegan could have avoided this action if she: 1️⃣ Published the STRB report 2️⃣ Get around the table and talk to us. Instead, she has gone missing. #PayUp #SaveOurSchools

An insult.

So now we see the value of education. £1000, before tax, and a below inflation increase for next year of 4.5%. Not fully funded. Less than fire service, doctors, railway workers and the offer to teachers in Wales and Scotland. That’s how little they value education.

Parental support for teacher strikes has grown, not fallen. Astonishing levels of support; Government must listen. #SaveOurSchools

Parent support of teacher strikes has grown despite the disruption they are causing them. 42% of parents have had to take time off and 34% have had to arrange additional childcare. However, 72% agree that teachers should receive a pay settlement in line with current inflation.

A weird day for me but I know that I’m striking for all the right reasons. I’m seeing so much support for teachers today and so glad people are educated on what is actually happening in schools. Our children deserve better. #neu #StrikeDay #TeacherStrike

In all the furore that might get caused on Wednesday during the strike, feel free to mention to anyone and everyone that the DFE and Ofsted are also on strike that day. That one is being kept very quiet.
