ADC is continuing the fight against government censorship so @RepFine cannot shut out the very people he vilifies. The First Amendment protects his right to spew hateful rhetoric. It also protects the public’s right to challenge him. drive.google.com/file/d/1woJ… 1/7

7amleh has joined a coalition calling on states and technology companies to halt the use and provision of AI systems for military targeting and kill chains. The statement raises serious concerns about the growing deployment of AI-powered surveillance, target generation systems, and large language models in warfare, warning that these technologies risk facilitating unlawful harm, obscuring accountability, and enabling violations of international humanitarian and human rights law. At a time when AI is increasingly shaping conflict and military decision-making, stronger safeguards, transparency, and accountability are urgently needed. 📄 Read the full statement: accessnow.org/press-release/… @accessnow

ADC President and Legal Director @JeninYounesEsq joined @RT_com’s Crosstalk to discuss the U.S. and Israel’s escalating attacks on Iran and the preposterous claims of “self-defense” that have followed. Washington and Tel Aviv cannot attack, destabilize the region, and then claim victimhood when the fire is returned. This is part of a broader U.S.-Israel policy that protects Israel’s expansionist agenda and drags the American people deeper into conflicts they did not vote for. The United States must stop capitulating to Netanyahu’s extremist government and start acting in the interests of the American people. It’s time to put America first.

The FBI has raided the homes of 7 activists for their pro-Palestine activism in Michigan. The federal government is charging them with carrying out a “criminal intimidation campaign” against university administrators for pushing to divest from Israel. buff.ly/6ApMi9b

“ADC is alarmed by the federal government’s escalation against former University of Michigan student organizers who courageously advocated for Palestinians’ human rights through encampments, divestment appeals, and protected political protest. Authorities are trying to turn constitutionally protected dissent into a federal crime, clearly because of the nature of the speech in question. This dangerous development should concern anyone who believes in free speech and civil liberties. Among those targeted is a plaintiff whom ADC represents alongside the Sugar Law Center for Economic & Social Justice in Hakim et al. v. Regents of the University of Michigan. They, along with several other plaintiffs, sued the university for violating her First Amendment rights by punishing her for protected pro-Palestine speech and activity. Now, the Administration has significantly raised the stakes by turning the university’s constitutionally violative strategy into the law of the land, without respect for the Constitution. This Administration appears to believe that constitutional rights are only for those whose politics it shares, which couldn’t be further from the purpose of constitutional protections – they exist to protect those who dissent from government policies. None of the defendants have engaged in activity that warrants a federal indictment for conspiracy-related offenses. Free speech and protest are not crimes, nor is demanding divestment and consideration for Palestinians’ human rights. These students are presumptively innocent and deserve a vigorous legal defense against a politically motivated prosecution.” - ADC President and Legal Director @JeninYounesEsq

Netanyahu is lobbying for Section 224 in the national defense bill, a provision that quietly expands U.S.-Israel military cooperation and weapons development with almost zero oversight. The American people do not want more U.S. military aid to Israel. We must defeat Section 224.

🚨 The first image of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya to emerge since his detention, taken during the ongoing proceedings before Israel’s High Court of Justice in Jerusalem, shows him visibly emaciated, in stark contrast to his appearance before he was taken into Israeli custody. His son warned this week that the life of Dr. Abu Safiya, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, is in grave danger. He has been held in Israeli detention since December 2024 after refusing to abandon his patients in northern Gaza. The family says Israeli authorities transferred him to solitary confinement in Nafha Prison in retaliation for filing a legal appeal with Israel’s High Court. According to the family, Dr. Abu Safiya is being held in a two-meter cell, forcibly starved like thousands of other Palestinian prisoners, and denied basic necessities, including clean water, medicine, and access to his lawyer.

We are calling on all members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee to reject an amendment offered by Rep. Michael Lawler during today’s markup of H.R. 9087 that would revive the controversial International Governmental Organizations (IGO) Anti-Boycott Act, legislation that was pulled from consideration last year following widespread public opposition. Lawler’s proposed amendment would expand the Anti-Boycott Act of 2018 to criminalize compliance with or support for boycotts promoted by international governmental organizations such as the United Nations. Americans, including individuals, businesses, nonprofits, and advocacy organizations, could face severe civil penalties and criminal liability for participating in or supporting internationally-backed boycott campaigns aimed at holding foreign governments accountable for violations of international law and human rights. In his motion to dismiss our case against him on behalf of @amasad, Congressman Randy Fine declares he’s unblocked everyone and changed his social media policy so as to no longer block critics. While we still oppose dismissal because a court order is needed to ensure Fine doesn’t violate the First Amendment in the future, we’re proud we got him to stop preventing detractors from dissenting on the public forum he created

The Constitution is clear: when an elected official opens an official channel for public discussion, he cannot exclude people because they criticize him. We have the right to hold power accountable, challenge hate in public, and speak back to government officials who would rather silence us. 6/7
