At #COSP19, ADF Chairperson Idriss Maiga called for accelerated ratification and implementation of the #ADP. He also condemned ongoing attacks and killings of persons with albinism, stressing that such violence must end.

As part of a learning process ahead of Kenya’s review on Monday, 18th May 2026, OPD delegates from Kenya, Nigeria, Zimbabwe and Mauritius observed the state review of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic during the 87th OS of the # ACHPR.

Ahead of Kenya’s review by the African Commission on 18th May 2026, @UDPKenya and the Kenya Network of Women with Disabilities held a bilateral meeting with Hon. Comm'r Marie Abomo- Chair of the Working Group on the Rights of Older Persons and People with Disabilities in Africa
During the meeting, 5 key issues were highlighted including:
1. Political Participation
2. The implementation of the Persons with Disabilities Act 2025
3. Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights
4. Inclusive Education
5. Social Protection.
This discussion shaped the questions and recommendations that will be raised during the constructive dialogue between Kenya and the African Commission.
