Great to spend the day in Wigan with Rob Kenyon.
Makerfield deserves better than being treated as a stepping stone for entitled Blairites. Better than having candidates imposed on them by party machines. Better than being told to keep voting the same way and expect a different result.
People here know Labourโs candidate is Andy โFor Meโ Burnham. They know Restore canโt win. And they know that if they want to send Keir Starmer a message that can actually be heard in Westminster, there is only one challenger within touching distance of Labour: Reform.

Jeremy Clarkson has revealed in the latest episode of Clarksonโs Farm that he has prostate cancer.
He says it has been caught โreally earlyโ and that he had 10% of his prostate removed.
In the Amazon Prime series he is seen telling his Kaleb Cooper about the diagnosis with his sidekick tearfully saying; โI donโt like this.โ Clarkson replies; โ Iโm not thrilled either.โ
The good news is that thanks to the early diagnosis Clarkson will be around for years to come.
One of the great TV and writing talents has been required viewing for decades and even saved Who Wants to be A Millionaire.

Last night, the Planning and Highways Committee rejected an application for an 11-bedroom HMO in Grindon.

HMOs have a real impact on parking, waste, anti-social behaviour, pressure on local services and the overall character of an area. That is why we have been clear, Sunderland needs a stronger, tougher and more resident-focused approach to planning, ensuring any planning application adheres strictly to regulations.
We will continue to push for proper scrutiny of relevant applications across the city and make sure that residentsโ concerns are taken seriously.
