For two legislative sessions now, Rep. Norris, Sen. Johnson Stewart, and I have been working to pass the MAP Act, and I am extremely pleased to see this important, fraud-fighting legislation fully pass the Minnesota House of Representatives today with bipartisan support.
Last night, the House passed a major DFL anti-fraud bill that:
✅Hires more investigators and prosecutors to fight Medicaid fraud
✅Stiffens penalties and makes it easier to prosecute fraudsters
✅Unlocks a 3-to-1 federal funding match for anti-fraud efforts

When someone defrauds Medicaid, they are stealing money meant to provide healthcare for poor families across Minnesota. I have no patience for those who brazenly steal from taxpayers and those most in need, and the MAP Act is a vital set of tools to help us hold them accountable.
