ULEZ has dramatically improved air quality in London. New evidence shows that our policies are reducing hospital admissions for breathing and heart problems 💚 theguardian.com/environment/…

Not even everyone in health and green organisations backed the ULEZ and the Mayor’s party ran away from the policy after the Uxbridge by- election but ur continues to deliver. Political leadership is often hard and thankless but this is how to measure it - in better lives!
The world's biggest clean air zone. Expanding the ULEZ wasn’t an easy decision, but evidence continues to show it was the right one for the health of millions of Londoners 💚 theguardian.com/environment/…

If Mateus Fernandes is valued at £80m …. then how much on earth is Elliot Anderson worth? £100m . Fernandes is 21, clearly full of potential but not in Anderson’s league (yet). Anderson, 23, is a special talent, strong character, can play a range of positions and there’s the England premium, too. Manchester City are interested. Anderson's club, Nottingham Forest, are also in a stronger negotiating position than Fernandes’ West Ham who’ve been relegated and posted club record losses. If he does leave Forest, Anderson will surely be breaking Declan Rice’s record between English clubs of £105m.

If Mateus Fernandes is worth £80m - he’s a very good player but I don’t think he is worth that sum - then #NFFC would need more than £150m for Elliott Anderson.

Just to say that really none of this is true.
Clean Power 2030 is driving electricity bills *up*. We’re driving costs up so much that wholesale prices could fall to zero and bills wouldn’t fall. (And moving these policy costs to general taxation won’t help with borrowing costs because it drives borrowing up!)

Could a community battery cut your bills? We are already seeing the impact in Hook Norton, where a community battery is helping cut costs and make the most of locally generated energy. We want to see more of this - putting power back into the hands of local communities.

I mean this is irrefutably the case. Borrowing costs, and not the principle sum borrowed, are the main issue with deficit (and debt). The Bank as well is working counter to economic policy and growth objectives. The economy is not running hot!
Replying to @YuanfenYang
High gilt yields are largely driven by high inflation. Labour MPs understand the cost of inflation, personally & politically: many of us are of the generation that faces high mortgage costs, & every day we see the impact of the cost of living crisis on our constituents. (3/5)

As an economist, former FT journalist and now Labour MP, l don’t think the bond markets have to fear a change of Labour leadership. The biggest problem for gilt investors and MPs alike is inflation – & it remains our common enemy. My @FT op-ed 👇 (1/5)

Hello @LondonPortAuth this morning someone climbed up the old wharf by Fulham Reach and taped three of these to the various old mooring gear. Is this legit?

That’s not caused by Brexit but values. Politics is increasingly values segmented and polarised by values not socio economic class., though they interact. In the EU referendum the vote was values polarised. See this: threeworlds.campaignstrategy… & threeworlds.campaignstrategy… @AJPendleton

Here’s possibly the most middle class post ever, but @JohnLewisRetail and @waitrose appear to have stopped allowing customers to carry fold-up bikes in their shops. @BromptonBicycle have a word! It won’t deeply affect my life but it’s daft!

the Jose Feliciano version is fabulous, @robert_elms @RobertElms but Stevie wins against anyone on any track. Innervisions is also one of his three flawless albums
