Thank you, lawmakers and advocates who worked tirelessly to move IN forward. While we passed some good laws, we took too many steps backwards in funding opportunities for economic growth, including a failure to adequately invest in our public schools and mental health.

Incredibly special tonight to see Mr. Rich Anderson present to hand out the Rich Anderson MVP Awards for the John Reed Relays. Mr. Anderson was on the brink of a very dark place not long ago and he persevered like EN Knights do! You were an inspiration tonight Mr. Anderson!

I have seen several tweets from disgruntled teachers criticizing various education laws & contract lang. Choose to discuss this with your state & union reps who can create change. Remind yourself of why you went into education. Our kids need the great teacher you can be!

Our students are so much brighter than many give them credit. Teaching beyond what students can Google and allowing them to use their curiosity and foundation knowledge to challenge the norm will excite and engage students.

As I begin my second year of retirement, I am reminded by my twitter friends of the excitement when beginning a new school. I wish you all an amazing, rewarding, and safe school year. Always remember the difference you make 24/7 as an impactful role model!

Oh..so…true! Our strong leaders need to be prepared for the isolation that often comes from that strength.

My heart melted today as I stood in an Iowa park and listened to the crack of a wood bat each time it made contact with a perfectly pitched baseball from a high school athlete. So looking forward to a return when kids can be kids and we all enjoy a less stressful life.

I am an optimist & believe students will return to school this fall. They need teachers’ compassion, guidance, academic engagement, and each other! Rather than say “if students return,” let’s design our next “redesign” to ensure they are safe and thriving.
