Howard Moscoe was truly one of a kind. Known for his sharp wit and big personality, he was somewhat of a legend in the municipal world.
Over a remarkable 31-year career, Howard contributed to a wide range of AMO committees and served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. He was a North York alderman, Metro councillor, Toronto city councillor, and the first Chair of the TTC following amalgamation. Howard played a leading role in advancing key municipal priorities, including transit, housing, and building more inclusive communities.
In 1999, he was recognized at AMO’s 100th conference with a Municipal Recognition Award in honour of his dedication and exemplary public service.
Howard was loved by many, and we are grateful for everything he gave to the sector. He will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family during this time.
