A strong Black mother and her two kids all walked across the graduation stage together this spring — the whole family earning their college degrees at the same time.
Meet Delilah Rhodes, a determined Black Queen from Nashville, Tennessee, who stood proudly with her son Eric Lee and daughter Gabrielle Lee at Tennessee State University’s commencement. Delilah earned her Master of Professional Studies in Human Resource Management, Eric received his MBA in Finance, and Gabrielle earned her MBA in Information Systems.
After years of putting her children first, Delilah returned to school to break cycles and model excellence. Her kids followed that same path of faith, sacrifice, and relentless grind. This spring (May 2026), they turned inspiration into reality and celebrated as one unit.
This is Black family excellence in action — teamwork, resilience, and legacy-building done right. No shortcuts, just consistent effort paying off across generations.
Big respect to Delilah, Eric, and Gabrielle for showing what unity and elevation look like. To every parent grinding for their dreams while raising the next generation: we see you. Your work is building something that lasts.
Keep shining and leading the way. This is what real pride and progress look like. 👏🏾
