#Flashback Jan. 17th, 2011.
Making the trek up from the Bed-Sty section of Brooklyn, Boys & Girls, one of the most prominent teams from New York City at the time, got an invite to the
@HoophallClassic and played against
@ANCBasketball, out of Bryn Mawr, PA, which had future Syracuse forward
@R_Xmas25 and Savon Lloyd-Goodman, who played at both
@TheRunninRebels and
@SunDevilHoops. The Kangaroos, would win, 47-45, off of a game-winning floater from Antoine Slaughter. They would also go on to win the second of their three consecutive
@nycpsal “AA” championships that they won from 2010-12.
@ctkroyals, which ended up winning both the CHSAA Brooklyn/Queens Diocese and the
@CHSAA_NYC “AA” championship later that season, knocked off Westchester Country Day School out of High Point, North Carolina, 73-65, behind 23 points by future UConn Huskies guard Omar Calhoun and 15 points from Isaiah Lewis.
And lastly,
@SJPHoop, out of Danvers, Massachusetts, which had
@hornets forward
@pconnaughton (19 points & 13 rebounds), knocked off Perspectives Charter School out of Chicago, 62-53, despite a big-time performance by
@dallasmavs center
@AntDavis23, who had 30 points and 16 rebounds.
Some great performances took place on the final day of the Hoophall.
