Ericka Rutledge, PhD's bio: Rutledge joined MFP in 2022 as a Psychology Summer Institute (PSI) fellow. She is now a fellow in the Leadership and Education Advancement Program (LEAP) for Diverse Scholars. Rutledge is a clinical psychologist who currently works at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital (CGCH). She specializes in working with children & adolescents with chronic medical conditions. She also provides consultation-liaison services to medical teams and integrated behavioral health services within several multidisciplinary specialties (e.g., endocrine, gastroenterology). Rutledge seeks to create a Pediatric Brief Consultation Clinic to offer accessible & high quality psychologically informed services for pediatric patients and families to facilitate resilience, improvements in mental and physical health, and overall quality of life.
ALT Tracie Augusta, PhD, DNP, is an assistant professor at the University of Memphis Loewenberg College of Nursing. She became their first PhD in Nursing Science graduate in Spring 2023. She also earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where she specialized as an acute care nurse practitioner. Her research focuses on hypertension, kidney disease, social determinants of health, and health equity in African Americans. A holistic approach to healing is essential for human health, this is a philosophy that Augusta adheres to. She aims to address health disparities among African Americans by researching and advocating on their behalf in these areas. In addition, she holds certifications as a family nurse practitioner and a clinical nurse specialist in adult health.
APA is working closely with other organizations to understand the full scope of these reported grant terminations and their impact on mental health and addiction care.
