Today, I turn 60. Sixty years of experiences, lessons and blessings. I woke up this morning feeling grateful, not just for the years, but for the journey itself. Today is a moment to pause and reflect. I’ve learned that public service is one of the highest callings. It’s not always easy, but it’s deeply fulfilling. Every day, I wake up knowing there’s more to do, more to give, more to build. Public service teaches you a great deal. It teaches patience. It teaches you how to listen, and how to keep going even when the path is difficult. I’m still learning. I’m always learning. So today, I’m thankful, for life, for the trust of Lagosians, the people I serve, and for the opportunity to keep working toward something greater than myself.

I am deeply saddened and outraged by the series of tragic events that have shaken our nation in recent days. From the cowardly suicide bombing in Konduga, Borno State, to the horrifying lynching of innocent travellers in Plateau State, and the deadly explosion in Kano, these attacks on innocent lives are unconscionable and must not stand. The bombing in Borno claimed the lives of innocent Nigerians and was a cruel attempt to spread fear. I have directed the National Emergency Management Agency to provide urgent support to survivors, and I extend my deepest condolences to the Government and people of Borno State. I also urge our security forces to intensify efforts to hunt down and rout the remnants of Boko Haram and crush their ability to inflict harm on soft targets as a diversionary tactic. In Plateau State, I strongly condemn the barbaric murder of 12 wedding guests - peaceful citizens who were simply returning from a joyous occasion. I have ordered the Nigerian Police Force to work with all relevant security and intelligence agencies to ensure that those responsible are swiftly apprehended and prosecuted. These killings must not go unanswered. I also call on the Government of Plateau State to act decisively to end this vicious cycle of violence and work with security agencies to get to the root of this recent incident and use it as a deterrent against future occurrences. Freedom of movement is a non-negotiable right of every Nigerian, and we will not tolerate any attempt by anyone or group of people to curtail that fundamental freedom through acts of extreme violence and fear. Furthermore, I sympathise with the families affected by the explosion at a scrap metal facility in Kano, where five lives were lost. This tragic incident highlights the urgent need for stricter adherence to workplace safety protocols. I have directed the relevant agencies to investigate the cause and take appropriate actions to prevent a recurrence. I offer my heartfelt prayers to the families of all those we have lost and to the injured. To the people of Borno, Plateau, Kano, and Kaduna States, I stand with you in grief and resolve. We will not rest until justice is done and peace and safety are fully restored across our land. May the souls of the departed rest in peace, and may God continue to protect the Federal Republic of Nigeria. ~ Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR President & Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

My dear compatriots, after many months of diplomatic exchanges and shuttles, insisting on our reciprocal rights under our Bilateral Air Services Agreement, we are pleased to announce that Nigeria has finally secured the coveted Heathrow slot for one of our flag carriers, @flyairpeace. We are committed to offering similar support to all our local operators, which is one of the focal points of the Renewed Hope Agenda of @officialABAT. We are also committed to ensuring that whilst we support their businesses to grow, we hold them to the highest standards in terms of delivering quality services to the flying public.

Today, I unveiled three new train sets for the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line at the National Theatre Station. Each set includes four cars, and with this addition, we are doubling our current passenger capacity on the Blue Line. This will directly improve the commute for thousands of Lagosians, reducing wait times, speeding up journeys, and making the system more reliable overall. Our goal is to have trains arriving every 10 minutes. I’m deeply grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Government for their strong support. From procurement to delivery, their backing made this possible. Before the end of the year, we’ll receive new trains for the Red Line which will have twice the capacity of the Blue Line trains. Construction on Phase 2 of the Blue Line (Mile 2 to Okokomaiko) is also progressing. We’re building infrastructure and a better future for urban mobility in Lagos. And we’re just getting started.

Dear Lagosians, I’m happy to share that we have taken delivery of three brand-new train sets of 12 coaches in total for the Lagos Blue Line Rail. This means shorter wait times and more comfortable trips for everyone using the Blue Line. It’s a step forward in our efforts to make daily commute in Lagos less stressful and more reliable. We’re not stopping here. Work is ongoing to extend the Blue Line all the way to Okokomaiko, and we’re aiming to finish that by 2026. I know it’s been a long time coming, but I truly believe we’re building something that will change how we move around this city for the better. Thank you for being patient and hopeful. We’re getting there, together.

Fake News Alert: Ministers Not Sacked, Ignore Phoenix's False Report This is to inform the general public that the story titled "BREAKING: Tinubu Sacks Ministers of Defence and Power", published by Phoenix Browser, is completely false, misleading, and devoid of any factual basis. At no point has President Bola Ahmed Tinubu dismissed the Ministers of Defence or Power. This falsehood, presented as breaking news, is nothing but reckless propaganda designed to misinform the public. To set the record straight, the most recent cabinet changes announced in October 2024 did not include the Ministers of Defence or Power. Those affected were Ministers of Women Affairs, Tourism, Education, State for Housing and Urban Development, and Youth Development. Furthermore, ten ministers were reassigned, and seven new nominees were presented for Senate confirmation, all of which were officially documented and widely reported by credible media platforms. Nigerians are strongly advised to ignore the concocted report by Phoenix Browser. It is fake news, plain and simple, sensationalist hogwash that should be treated with the contempt it deserves. Please depend on official government channels and trusted news outlets for accurate and verified information. ©️ Renewed Hope Global @DHQNigeria @Bellomatawalle1 @Mohammed_Badaru @aonanuga1956 @SundayDareSD @BayoAdelabu @federal_power

PROGRESS EVER... @jidesanwoolu
Today, alongside my deputy, cabinet members, National Assembly members from Lagos, House of Assembly members, and chairmen of Local Government Areas, we received His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at Lagos House, Marina. I assured President Tinubu that his vision for Lagos’ development remains on track, using the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority as a reference point. LAMATA was created by his administration when he was governor and it has been the leading agency changing the city’s landscape through implementation of the development master plan conceived decades back. It was also heartwarming to receive the president’s acknowledgment of our administration’s result-oriented approach to turn Lagos around, while creating opportunities out of challenges.

We APC France Chapter join the Nigeria Federal president H.E. Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT and all caring Nigerians in mourning ROTIMI AKEREDOLU! Our condolence to those he left behind.
I MOURN MY FEARLESS BROTHER, ROTIMI AKEREDOLU It is a difficult task to have to pen a tribute and sing a dirge for a departing soul. It is a more difficult job in our African culture when one is compelled to do so for a younger person. Here I am with the difficult job of singing a dirge for Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, my beloved brother, confidant, political soulmate and governor of Ondo State. I cannot fairly capture in words Rotimi’s towering figure and his human essence. Rotimi was a man who moved our nation towards equity, fairness and justice in his strident advocacy against every form of injustice in our country through the instrumentality of the law as a senior advocate, attorney general of his beloved state, as President of the Nigerian Bar Association and Governor of Ondo State. In a challenging moment of our statehood when marauding agents of darkness spread their tentacles across our country, Rotimi was a strong voice in wilderness calling us to rethink our security architecture so we can have a more secure nation. His unrelenting advocacy led to the birth of the local police in the South West. Rotimi was a man of ideas and action. While he was with us, he taught us the power of action and service. In Ondo State where he had the honour to serve as the Governor in the last 6 years, he served his people with absolute loyalty, dedication and forthrightness. His footprints dot the entire landscape in the hundreds of kilometres of roads he built, the many school he built and healthcare facilities that he provided. During the dark hours when marauding agents of darkness visited the state and killed defenceless citizens where 40 worshippers of the Catholic Church of Owo were killed on June 5, 2022, Rotimi’s leadership qualities as a true statesman and compassionate leader radiated brightly to the world. He was a mourner-in-chief who guided his people through an agonising period. Today, I MOURN a fighter and fearless defender of truth and the masses. My personal journey with Rotimi started as joint members of the progressive family. We fought many battles together to restore progressive governance in the South West, Edo State and Nigeria as a whole. During this uncertain period, Rotimi was resolute and unflinching. He showed uncommon courage as member of our legal team in our battles to reclaim our stolen mandates in Ekiti, Ondo, Edo and Osun States. A gallant lawyer and one of the finest of the legal profession. I beckoned on him to contest for the governorship position of Ondo State in 2012. Even though he didn't make it in first attempt his enthusiasm and determination to serve his people never diminished. He eventually made it to the Alagbaka Government House in his second attempt in the 2016 election, Since he was sworn-in in February 2017, he had served the people with devotion. Rotimi has played his role well and left us untimely. We will never see his likes again. Let me tell the people of Ondo State that I am grieving with you. We will honour Rotimi's memory and make sure his legacy of service is never forgotten. In my grief and sadness, I have telephoned his wife, Betty, and Acting Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to commiserate with them and urge them to take heart over this national tragedy. Governor Akeredolu was not just a friend, ally and associate, he was a brother and soulmate. His death is a blow to our governing APC and the progressive family as we are diminished by it. I hope that his successor Aiyedatiwa will hold steadfast to the vision of governance left by this towering political leader. H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu President, Federal Republic of Nigeria December 27, 2023 #Aketi
