Here's how you can and @APKMirror (apkmirror.com) to your preferred sources on Google with a single click: google.com/preferences/sourc…. From what we can tell, this ability is only available in the US and India for now.

In the spirit of this victory, I will once again ask if @TimSweeneyEpic will now allow @Fortnite and @EpicGames on @APKMirror. Let's do this, Tim!

For the first time, APKMirror Installer has built-in translations (to 49 languages, powered by Gemini). As part of this release, we had to drop support for Android 5.0 and 5.1. Users of these really old devices can still install an older version of APKMirror Installer (1.11.1).

After months of dev work, we are starting a staged rollout of @APKMirror Installer v2.0 with the Material 3 Expressive redesign. This version is currently rolling out to 1% of users, but you can also take it for a spin here: apkmirror.com/apk/apkmirror/… Some screenshots attached.

We're cautiously optimistic.
Viva la resistance! The Android community has spoken and revolted on the issue of sideloading and developer verification, and Google has listened! "Empowering experienced users While security is crucial, we’ve also heard from developers and power users who have a higher risk tolerance and want the ability to download unverified apps. Based on this feedback and our ongoing conversations with the community, we are building a new advanced flow that allows experienced users to accept the risks of installing software that isn't verified. We are designing this flow specifically to resist coercion, ensuring that users aren't tricked into bypassing these safety checks while under pressure from a scammer. It will also include clear warnings to ensure users fully understand the risks involved, but ultimately, it puts the choice in their hands. We are gathering early feedback on the design of this feature now and will share more details in the coming months." android-developers.googleblo…

So at this point, I'm at a loss. We need help from someone on Google's Search Console or Chrome Safety teams so that we can either get verified in Search Console or just find out what the problem is. Twitter, can you help?

I've been trying to figure this out all evening. Our entire Cloudflare R2 subdomain all of a sudden got marked as "dangerous" by Chrome's Safe Browsing. The reason given: "Distribute uncommon downloads" which is a nonsensical description. It's likely a single APK Google doesn't like anymore for some reason, but here's the worst part: Google doesn't tell us what it is. transparencyreport.google.co…

It's clear from the EO that US companies are protected from federal enforcement of PAFACA. However, there's a risk that state prosecutors might go after such companies. We will continue to monitor the situation.
