I just updated my “Unpacked” graphic with the expected final numbers from the NY State budget, 52 days late, still unsigned by Hochul. And in all that extra time, Albany found ways to make it worse. $268.5B total. The biggest in state history. $126B on Medicaid. Up 89% since 2019. $10.3B in federal aid, gone. No plan to replace it. $0 saved for a rainy day. $27.5B in deficits already baked in. State debt exploding to $95B by 2030. And a brand new $557M/year pension deal, unfunded. Governor @KathyHochul, Speaker Heastie, Leader @AndreaSCousins, you are driving our great state off a fiscal cliff and handing debt obligations to our children the likes of which no New Yorker has ever seen. Have you no shame? And @TomDiNapoli where are you?! I am running to stop this craziness.

Kathy Hochul spent $5 billion of New Yorkers’ tax dollars for migrants’ healthcare, hotels, and lawyers. $4 billion to bankroll Zohran Mamdani’s socialist agenda. But when it comes to ensuring 250,000 hardworking Long Islanders can get to work, Governor Hochul is suddenly playing hardball with rail workers. Treating suburban commuters and law abiding blue collar workers worse than illegal immigrants and socialist pet projects is no way to run a state. New Yorkers deserve better. We need you, Bruce Blakeman!
New Yorkers pay 70% more for electricity than the rest of the country. When I am Governor, we will cut your utility bills in half. We will return $2.4 billion in unspent energy funds to the people who paid them. That is your money. You should have it back. No more waiting. @KathyHochul

During the Biden administration, H-1B visa holders were buying houses with 97-100% financing. 97% would come from the FHA, with the rest coming from state first-time home buyer programs. Zero money down. Thanks to programs that were supposed to be helping low-income American families buy their own homes. FHA loans to non-permanent residents quickly grew to represent 6% of mortgage issuances. The percentage was undoubtedly higher in places like the DFW area, where H-1B visa holders are disproportionately concentrated. I don’t have anything against people in America on H-1B visas. I’ve said it before—and I’ll say it again—that I’ve found many of them to be great people on an individual level, and I wish them all nothing but the best. Individual immigrants—especially those here legally—are not at fault for flawed US immigration policy. But this might be the most radicalizing thing I’ve ever seen. Not only are American workers forced to compete for jobs, they’re also forced to compete in the housing market against people bringing 0-3% of a house’s cost to the closing table, versus the 10-20% most people have to pay. First, companies import mass numbers of H-1B visa holders, largely in "back office" white-collar fields like IT and accounting. This essentially imposes a lower ceiling on domestic wages in these job categories. Next, these workers—who are generally concentrated in certain geographic areas—create more demand for housing (especially in good school districts), driving up home prices and the cost of living. Then, to top it off, they don’t even have to save up money for a down payment. They can close on a $500k house with $0-15k plus a 97% FHA loan. Meanwhile, ordinary American families are forced to come to with $50-100k for the same down payment. I don’t care how you feel about Trump or what your preferred immigration policies are; there’s no defending this. It screws over hard-working American citizens several different ways over, and it’s yet another reason why I will always be glad Trump won and Kamala Harris lost in 2024.
We basically did NINJA loans again but this time with non-US citizens Many homebuilders, such as Bloomfield Homes in Celina, TX offered access to FHA loans for H-1B visa holders through their preferred lenders until May of 2025, when Trump had HUD shut these lending practices down Some of these FHA loans offered 100% financing through a combination of a standard FHA loan and access to State assisted first time homebuyer grants for the 3% downpayment Yes, you read that correctly, your tax dollars funded home-buying grants for non-US Citizens during the Biden administration Is it just a coincidence that home prices began falling at a rapid pace in Celina, TX almost immediately after Trump shut this program down? How many people bought a brand new home with zero money down at peak 2022-2024 pricing? You won’t see an impact at a national level, but you WILL see it in certain markets with a lot of H-1B tech workers and new construction

When I am Governor, New Yorkers will pay zero state income tax on the first $50,000 they earn. For married couples filing jointly, zero state income tax on the first $100,000. The largest middle-class tax cut in New York State history.

The illegal immigration issue is not difficult or complex or nuanced. If they came here illegally, they need to leave. That's it. End of story. "But what if they've been here for 10 years???" They need to leave. "But what if they haven't committed any other crimes???" Leave. "But what if they have a family???" Leave. This isn't hard at all. We have laws in this country. You broke the law. You don't belong here. Nothing personal. But get the hell out. It should not be hard for elected Republicans to articulate this point. If they do have trouble articulating it -- if they take any position on illegal immigration except for this -- they can also go. That's not complicated either.

Make no mistake about it: The so-called 'Dignity Act' is amnesty. It gives amnesty to any illegal alien that crossed the border before 2021, any illegal married to a U.S. citizen, and also massively expands visas— including permanent residence for F-1 international students. It would bring mass deportations to an essential halt as illegal aliens flood the courts with their 'dignity' claims whether they're eligible or not. Any Republican supporting this is supporting amnesty and betraying the voters that elected them.

Theodore Roosevelt on immigration: “The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities.” “We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language, for we intend to see that the crucible turns our people out as Americans, and American nationality, not as dwellers in a polyglot boarding house."

🚨 Democrat Senator Harry Reid introduced legislation in 1993 to end Birthright Citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants. "No sane country would do that — No sane country would give illegals citizenship" “If you break our laws by entering this country without permission and give birth to a child, we reward that child with U.S. Citizenship and a guarantee to have full access to all public and social services this society provides.” rumble.com/v77yymm-1993-demo…

Tomorrow, the Supreme Court will hear one of the most consequential cases of the last 50 years: Whether the 14th amendment grants birthright citizenship to the children of illegal aliens. When I worked in the first Trump admin, I drafted the original executive order ending birthright citizenship for illegal aliens that ultimately went unsigned until the beginning of last year-- and now finds itself at the center of this case. To put it simply: President Trump has every single legal and historical precedent in his favor. When the 14th amendment's birthright citizenship clause was written, illegal immigration was a foreign concept. The 14th Amendment was specifically intended to clarify citizenship for the children of freed slaves. It did not guarantee that a 9-months pregnant Guatemalan could illegally cross the Rio Grande, give birth, and have their child considered an American citizen. The Left always cites the Wong Ark Kim case from 1898 to claim this as settled law, but that case did not apply to illegal aliens. The plaintiff was the son of one of the thousands of Chinese laborers who were brought legally to America during the 19th century to work on the transcontinental railroads. The Supreme Court has never adjudicated the question of whether children born within our borders to somebody who broke our nation's immigration laws are legal citizens. The answer is “no,” and the Court should absolutely uphold the President's executive order. We don't give citizenship to the children of foreign diplomats born in America. In the same way, we should not give citizenship to children of illegal aliens. No European country, not even the Vatican, grants birthright citizenship to children born to unlawful residents. Democrats are naturally freaking out about this case. Why? Because it's a terrifying prospect for the future of their party. They've seen the data showing how much population loss blue states have seen over the last few years. It's possible that California could lose up to six electoral votes in the next census. The only way they can maintain their power is by continually replacing the population with the children of illegals. It's one of the major pillars of Democrat power and it may just be coming to an end.
