The most striking thing to me is that the the CBP officer pushes a woman onto the ground and the man is trying to protect her from them and help her up when they tackle him and then shoot him. It’s one of the most upsetting things I’ve ever seen happen in America

In celebration of Black History Month, we are hosting a special screening of the movie Selma at the Hellman Library on the Saint Rose Campus on February 11th! Following the film there will be a panel discussion centered around the film’s themes and significance.

Selma is an incredibly powerful film about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement. This movie hit me right between the eyes. It was also my first introduction to director Ava DuVernay- a gifted artist with a vision. On #MLKWeekend, I implore you to try this film
