Hampden last year somewhat restored my faith that not everything ends in heartbreak. Good things can happen. Come on Scotland! ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ

While obviously participation signals that the previous season was pretty dire, the League Cup Group Stages have been shown to give teams an edge going into the new campaign. That's about the only notion of positivity I can muster from the whole thing.

With Shinnie departing, itโ€™s the end of an era. Iโ€™ve published the full chapter dedicated to the captain from Red Redemption on Substack featuring insights from teammates and staff who worked with him. It's clear what the club meant to him. Read it here๐Ÿ‘‡ tinyurl.com/28v85846

For next season I will be judging signings after they have at least played a few games. If anything the last few years has taught us, it's not to get hyperbolic over signings. Some look great on paper and do not work out โ€” others don't and then do.

Fancy pretending this season never happened and whisking yourself back to May last year? The first year anniversary of Aberdeen's 2025 Scottish Cup triumph is almost here and Red Redemption is currently on offer at 27% off! โšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ† tinyurl.com/ms8wfr4j

"When we need leaders, it wasn't there." "I was extremely worried... when I saw the lack of core at the club." "Unfortunately players have long contracts, some will come back... and when they do come back... they have to come up to the levels we expect." At least he sees it.
Stephen Robinson spoke to RedTV following our game against Dundee.

Openly admitting that it is unfortunate that some of the current crop are on long contracts is probably the most damning comment of all. I would expect Robinson to be pushing for the likes of Yengi, Jensen, Lazetic, Gyamfi etc to be moved on in the summer.

From Aberdeen, to Athens, to Paisley, Edinburgh, Dundee ... pretty much anywhere really, this has been a total dirge of a season. I cannot remember a single high whatsoever. We've perhaps traded in years of excitement for that day in May last year. More upheaval to come...

The best thing you can say about today's game is that it means nothing - apart from some additional prize money, of course. For a while, it looked as if we were going to be dragged right into that relegation play-off spot, but thankfully we can at least try and 'enjoy' the game.

McInnes: "You? You beat Celtic in Glasgow to win silverware?" Thelin: "Sure, you haven't?"

So, the lowly Aberdeen have still won all of Scotland's major trophies more recently than Hearts. Interesting.

Three home wins on the bounce is not to be sniffed at. Think we can all agree there's still a lot of room for improvement but fair play to Robinson for getting a tune out of a group that looked destined for doom. Olusanya btw, what a maniac...

Barring a set of absolutely freak results, that point last night all but sees us limp over the line to safety with a couple of homes games to spare. Obviously it's still mathematically possible, however this position is a lot preferable to where we were just a few weeks ago.
