Following APHR’s parliamentary briefing on Myanmar's Post-Sham Election Crisis yesterday, APHR Co-Chairperson Charles Santiago spoke at the 9th Session of the Union Parliament of Myanmar and reinforced strong parliamentary solidarity to the people of Myanmar.
APHR strongly condemns the Myanmar military junta’s mass killing of at least 30 civilians in Nyaunglebin Township, including women and children. Reports indicated junta forces also detained more than 160 villagers in a local school and used them as human shields. 🇲🇲
The junta can no longer be allowed to continue committing these atrocities. ASEAN and the international community must act now to ensure justice, accountability, and protection for the people of Myanmar. @ASEAN@DFAPHL@UN
