How do you build a professional body that delivers across 16 African countries? Dr. Fualal Jane @FualalJ Past President, @cosecsa shared these key lessons on building impactful regional collaborations: - Shared Purpose: Associations bring people together to provide training, lead advocacy, and amplify member voices. - The Multiplier: No single country can solve big problems alone. True collaboration brings fresh ideas and faster results, but you must fight poor communication to make it work. -COSECSA in Action: As a "college without walls," it standardizes surgical training across borders using the same curriculum, local accredited hospitals, and regional mentorship. -The Reality: This work is slow and unglamorous. It takes late nights, patience, and humility. But the result is a strong, globally recognized African medical community. We aren't just building associations; we are building generations. #COSECSA #AfricaHealth #AssociationLeadership #Collaboration

We are honored to learn from Prof. Patrick E. Kyamanywa today at the Professional Associations Leaders Summit. In his Presentation he challenged us on Building Transformational Leaders to Meet Modern Challenges. His core message: "Leadership is about achieving change by changing how people think about what is desirable and possible." Key takeaways for modern leaders: -Lead, don't just manage. Influence and motivate; don't just handle processes. -Challenge the status quo. Stop accepting long-standing issues as "normal." -Communicate strategically. Be consistent across digital, visual, and written channels. -Act immediately. Implement at least two new leadership actions today. -Anchor in values. Look to foundational principles—like Romans Chapter 12 for service-driven leadership. He emphasizes; Associations must shift from maintenance to transformation. 👇 What "normal" habit does your professional association need to break? #ValueBasedLeadership #ProfessionalAssociationLeaderSummit #ASOU #LeadershipSummitUganda #TransformationalLeadership
