Beyond research, Sims serves as a Volunteer Keeper Aide in the Ape House at the Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute 🦧 and Abigail has been involved with outreach with Girls Who Code.
They also Volunteer STEM Pen Pal with Letters to a Pre-Scientist!
The panel will offer insights into building and sustaining collaborations, navigating conflict, managing the pressures of leading primate research, and implementing practical solutions that have proven effective in their own work.
This Hot Topics in Primate Welfare brings together the science of learning with the art of compassionate care. Autumn Sorrells explores how laboratory animal training can transcend compliance to foster both joy and agency for animals in human care.
