In clinical practice, elective coronary angiography /- PCI is often deferred in the presence of signs of acute inflammation.
We have investigated the association between elevated CRP and/or WBC and the occurrence of early stent thrombosis in @JAHA_AHA ahajrnls.org/4b12O8G

Even 'expert' operators still have room for improvement! Pre-specified analysis of OCTOBER demonstrated unintended stent deformation in 10% (1 in 5 left main PCIs) & only 50% were detected by operators

2. The estimated absolute benefits of intravascular imaging guided PCI showed a proportional relation with baseline risk, driven by the severity and complexity of coronary artery disease.
