Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr.
@himantabiswa has consistently emphasized the timely and effective implementation of every government scheme aimed at public welfare. Introduced under his visionary leadership, the Guardian Minister Programme has emerged as a vital mechanism for strengthening governance and ensuring the efficient delivery of welfare initiatives across Assam.
As the Guardian Minister for Kamrup (Metro) district, I chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the District Commissioner's office today to assess the progress of various welfare and developmental activities being undertaken in the district.
The meeting reviewed the performance of key departments, including Panchayat & Rural Development, Agriculture, PHE, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Irrigation, Education, Social Welfare, Excise, Transport, PWD, APDCL, Health & Family Welfare, Guwahati Municipal Corporation and others. I stressed the need for timely execution of all projects and schemes so that their benefits reach the people without delay.
I directed officials to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is deprived of government's initiatives and that all ongoing works are completed within the stipulated timelines.
Special emphasis was also laid on the strict enforcement of Excise laws to curb the illegal sale and consumption of liquor. Officials were instructed to intensify measures against drink-and-drive violations, particularly during night hours, to enhance public safety.
The meeting was attended by Hon’ble MLAs Shri Vijay Kumar Gupta, Dr. Tapan Das, District Commissioner Shri Swapneel Paul, Guwahati's Joint Commissioner of Police Shri Ankur Jain, Additional District Commissioners, DDC, Zila Parishad CEO, senior district officials from various departments, and other stakeholders.
