Trächtigen Stuten wird qualvoll Blut abgenommen, um daraus das Hormon PMSG zu gewinnen. Dann wird es Sauen verabreicht, damit sie mehr Ferkel werfen. @AWF_Germany fordert: @cem_oezdemir soll die derzeitige Überarbeitung des Tierschutzgesetzes nutzen und PMSG endlich verbieten!

🚰 100% had inadequate drinking devices
🚨 In at least 73%, animals were not fed after nine hours
⏲️ At least 47% of the vehicles travelled for longer than permitted by law.

Report 2️⃣ investigates the transport of lambs:
🚰 100% had inadequate drinking devices
🚨 90% provided insufficient space for the lambs to move
🤕 65% had issues that were likely to lead to injuries
⏲️ At least 35% of the vehicles travelled for longer than permitted by law

Report 1️⃣ investigates the transport of cows looking at which factors (bedding, jounrey lenght, loading density) have the strongest impacts on the #welfare of the animals.
Outcome: Insufficient welfare provisions overwhelmingly impact an animal’s physical emotional health.

In February, @AWF_Germany reported on the arrest of a ship transporting thousands of 🐄 to the Middle East for carrying 4.5 tonnes of cocaine.
Drug trafficking targeting ships carrying animals is another wake-up call to finally ban #liveexports.

Over Easter, @AWF_Germany also investigated the long-distance transport of #lambs being taken to Italy.
Since 2016, the NGO has repeatedly seen the same violations being committed by the same transport companies. 🚚❌
