Added to this, Roland was (is) incredibly kind. Really smart about history. And appreciative of work done well. We sat in the beautiful library in his Shangri-la home in Hollywood and he'd read my pages back to me with so much pleasure. My favorite director to work with!

Oh, ps- the producers had me pitch to Diane Keaton, who wanted to direct. Chaotic Italian cafe, I was nearly screaming. She in impeccable leather vest and bowler hat. Nicest person. Too loud, crazy lunchtime agents in BH. We gave up and talked about her dog. The End. 7/7?
