A Chartered Chemical Engineer, Ian brings over 35 years of experience across the energy, power, construction, heavy industry and property insurance sectors, having worked with both underwriting companies and insurance brokers, as well as holding senior roles in industrial organizations. At AXIS, Ian works closely with our underwriting teams to provide specialist risk engineering insight on complex EAR projects, helping brokers and clients navigate evolving and challenging construction exposures. He plays a key role in translating detailed technical findings into clear, practical underwriting advice, supporting informed decision-making and alignment with underwriting strategy. Ian also regularly engages with brokers and customers, promoting our risk engineering approach, exploring mitigation strategies, and enabling open, constructive dialogue on complex risks strengthening transparency and confidence throughout the placement process.
