A lot has been discussed about Archaeopteryx and its place in our understanding of species. A close look at the fossil reveals a very interesting animal. The linked article discusses not only the animal but also the environment it lived in and the ecological niche it may have held. "In their paper, the researchers synthesize evidence from all known Archaeopteryx fossils, including five recently-described specimens, to reconstruct how the animal lived." my.mesaaz.gov/49n8niE

Where in AZMNH? Can you find this spider on exhibit at AZMNH? Is it a prehistoric spider, or a modern one? We find evidence of early spiders dating back to around 320 million years ago.
