As Arizona’s Chief Election Officer, I’m excited to say that 49 million young people (18-29yrs old) will be eligible to vote in the 2026 midterms across the nation. I promise to continue safeguarding the right to vote and protecting voter privacy for Arizonans of all ages.

On this day in 1919, the 19th Amendment—which prohibits any US citizen from being denied the right to vote based on sex—was passed by Congress. It would be ratified more than a year later on August 18, 1920.
107 years later, the Arizona Secretary of State’s office is dedicated to ensuring voting is accessible to every eligible voter in the state.
