The ASA represents 13 of Az's 15 counties, working together to advance public safety and accountability. Pima Sheriff Nanos is not a member and has not participated since 2020. ASA remains united and focused on executing public safety for Arizona communities. #AZLeg

We appreciated the time you and several other legislators took to support the men and women of law enforcement.
Last night I had the honor of attending the Sheriff's Awards Banquet here in Arizona. Watched so many brave men and women be recognized for their extraordinary courage and dedication. They put their lives on the line every single day to keep our communities safe—often running toward danger while the rest of us are running away. From lifesaving acts under fire to years of quiet, relentless service, every story reminded me how much we owe the thin blue line that stands between order and chaos. Thank you to every law enforcement officer in Arizona who wears the badge with pride.

Jails and prisons have become de facto state mental hospitals because of the lack of mental health resources in communities. Arizona is especially susceptible to this problem.
