Another game I think will be hot is that Argentina vs Algeria game. If Algeria can bring their “A” game like most African teams have done, it will be hard for the World Champions.

Full-time game review: #KSAURU Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 vs Uruguay 🇺🇾 Al Amri gave Saudi Arabia the lead late in the first-half, giving Uruguay a lot to think about during the half-time break. Uruguay fought back all through the game, and they were able to get a goal in the 80th minute of the match. The goal came from Sporting CP winger Maximiliano Araujo. The match ended: Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 1 - 1 Uruguay 🇺🇾 Saudi Arabia showed class in their game against one of South America’s giant, Uruguay. Peharps, they might be making a statement that they are no longer a small national team. However, with their confident display against Uruguay, and how they played in their World Cup qualification matches, it is safe to say their investment in football will pay off.

Full-time match review: Incase you missed it. Iran 🇮🇷 vs New Zealand 🇳🇿 #IRNNZL New Zealand thought it would be “Just Easy” as they got an early lead seven (7) minutes into the match, courtesy of Elijah Just, and assisted by Chris Wood. But Ramin Rezaeian gave Iran hope as he put Iran level with New Zealand (1 - 1 ). Chris Wood was the creator again, as Elijah Just had to reclaim his mantle in the 54th minute, to put New Zealand ahead (1 - 2). Iran refused to be beaten, because ten (10) minutes later, Mohebi equalized for them. Both teams kept going at each other but “Maybe” it wasn’t “Just” enough as they had to settle for a draw. Final score: Iran 🇮🇷 2 - 2 Uruguay 🇺🇾

I don’t understand VAR reviews sometimes. Even if it wasn’t a penalty, it should have been called back for a free-kick. These are moments that can change games. You can’t just ignore because it is not a penalty. #BELEGY

Btw, this is why a natural striker is always needed in a team. You can’t be playing a false 9 or putting a winger as your main striker. The national team usually play lesser games compared to club football, where the players who have always trained together, know each other and how they move. But when it comes to the national team, you need a target man. It wasn’t even up to 30 seconds Lukaku was subbed in for Belgium, and his first touch was a goal. Again, you can’t overlook a natural striker’s movement. A false 9 or winger can’t give you that.
Romelu Lukaku is in ⚽️🔥 Just 5 secs after he entered the game His first touch his first goal. Belgium equalizes Egypt!

I don’t know why people often underrate Romelu Lukaku. He is a World Class player, and up there with Luis Suarez, Lewandoski, Harry Kane and the rest…

Y’all are saying Cape Verde will not concede up to seven (7) goals, but looking at Spain’s starting XI and bench, it might even be more 😭 #ESPCPV

Vozinha (The untold story) Josimar Jose Évora Dias, Cape Verde’s goalkeeper, popularly known as Vozinha, has been the man on every football fans lips, after his heroic goalkeeping against Spain.  He was born in Mindelo, and was named after a Brazilian defender. Unlike other goalkeepers, Vozinha started his football career late, at the age of 25.  He was Cape Verde’s goalkeeper in the 2014 World Cup qualification phase, his goal-keeping abilities was enough to put them top of their group. But, they were disqualified for fielding an ineligible player. There was even a time he colluded with Sadio Mane at the 2021 AFCON tournament, and he was heavily criticized by Cape Verde fans for going too strong on the challenge. However, at 39 years old, Vozinha wanted to hang his boots but his teammates urged him to stay. He lost his spot during the qualifiers to Bruno Varela (Cape Verde’s second choice goal-keeper), but a decision was made to keep him in the team for his leadership qualities.  I guess it finally paid-off, as they found their way through the qualifying stages, to be at the World’s biggest stage.  And now, his dazzling performance has caught the eyes of many around the world, as they held Spain to a goalless draw in their first ever FIFA World Cup match.
The weapon fashioned against Spain today. 😂

The game has ended. Spain 🇪🇸 1 - 1 Cape Verde 🇨🇻 I think Spain have paid the price of not having a clinical striker. Cape Verde on the other hand, defended well, and they have a super goalkeeper in Vozinha. Full-time thoughts? 👇🏼
