Grateful and humbled to receive the DeSousa Award for Best Stroke/Interventional Project for the second consecutive year at @MiamiNeuroRes @UMiamiNeuro. None of this happens in isolation. Thankful for incredible mentors, and the opportunity to keep growing in this field.

New ACTN article: Does combining aggressive antiplatelet and IVT during acute intracranial stenting lead to significant hemorrhagic complications? Our RESISTANT study of 823 patients reveals no synergistic bleeding risk—the joint effect is attenuated. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…

Our latest RESISTANT Registry subanalysis found that aggressive intraprocedural antiplatelet therapy was not associated with excess hemorrhagic risk in patients undergoing acute intracranial stenting after intravenous thrombolysis. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…

Check out new publication. Just Published in @TheJNS Therapeutic management of Intracranial ICA Blowout Syndrome (ICABS) — an institutional case series individual participant data meta-analysis. 80 patients analyzed. thejns.org/view/journals/j-n… ICABS is an extremely rare but catastrophic entity. Common causes: • Head & neck cancer invasion • Radiation injury • Iatrogenic injury during transsphenoidal surgery Most frequent location: Petrous ICA (43.8%) Key results: • Bleeding control achieved in 81.2% • Parent vessel sacrifice most common intervention (41%) • Overall complication rate: 35% • Mortality: 27.5% Conservative management had the highest mortality (60%). 📌 Takeaway When acute ICABS occurs → Endovascular therapy could be first-line. Rapid hemorrhage control saves lives. Grateful for learning from mentors @evanluthermd @Starkeneurosurg and collaboration with colleagues @MokshalPorwal @AaronCalienes @matetinihas @joelsequeiros #neuroendovascular #Neurosurgery

Grateful to see our work highlighted by @StrokeAHA_ASA. Important data on first-line vs rescue stenting during EVT for AIS, with comparable safety and effectiveness #ISC26 @dyavagal
#ISC26 In a retrospective observational cohort study, first-line stenting and rescue stenting during EVT for AIS demonstrated a comparable safety and effectiveness profile. @AHAScience ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/…

Our latest study now published in @StrokeAHA_ASA evaluating the benefits of endovascular thrombectomy beyond 24 hours from symptom onset. How does expanding the treatment window could impact stroke care?
#STROKE: In a systematic review and meta-analysis, EVT was associated with improved functional outcomes without an increase in mortality, despite a higher sICH risk, in AIS patients beyond 24 hours from symptom onset. ahajrnls.org/48W84Mt
