Since I wasn't that clear, what made this cool was that I simply gave the AI a large (100MB ) dataset that had been used in a prior analysis, and told it to figure out what was interesting. It replicated the results of teh prior analysis in a pretty sophisticated way.
AI AutoReplication? I asked AI to consider an old analysis from FiveThirtyEight: "Code Interpreter: In March of 2006, a new Scrabble dictionary came out. Here's 1.5M games. Analyze trends before & after to tell me whether or not that change made a difference." Same conclusion.

The coolest thing yet - Dramatron from @DeepMind! A LLM that can put together a (mostly) coherent script #CHI2023

I've spent hours experimenting with using multiple large language models (LLMs) such as Bard AI, GPT-4, GPT-3.5 and Bing AI for academic research. They're extremely powerful but with some very painful pitfalls. Here's my guide to using LLMs as your personal research assistant:

We live in interesting times. “These findings suggest that a “theory of mind”-like ability (thus far considered to be uniquely human) may have spontaneously emerged as a byproduct of language models' improving language skills.” arxiv.org/abs/2302.02083

Vero appears! Our paper on the VERO approach is in press now at Computers in Human Behavior (sciencedirect.com/science/ar…)!! This paper details the work our team has done to develop VERO, an artificial teammate, that can be used in a variety of task settings.

Vero is the name of the avatar which can easily be added to a Zoom profile, allowing anyone to conduct human-AI team research online. Our goal was to make this sort of research more accessible and cheaper, and to speed up the pace of human-AI research.
