I joke with anyone that will listen that the preface to my book, Wired for Purpose, is the best part. That's because my wife, @MelanieStrout, was the one that wrote it. She's been such a critical part of my journey over the last 30 years, and without her, none of this happens. Thank you @peter_osborne for so eloquently capturing this aspect of the story. I appreciate you. frictionfreecommunications.c…

Pretty much.
4 things I’d rather do than be a thunder fan: 1. Play hide and go seek w/ Jeffery Dahmer in an abandoned Chucky Cheese 2. Be a Temu parachute tester 3 Stick my D&@k In a blender 4.Lick a port-o-potty toilet seat at Coachella Yall are some Losers

I told the interviewer I was “very scared” of the conversation. I was joking. Mostly. @peter_osborne at @RestlessUrban just published two pieces on me — a profile and a review of Wired for Purpose — and being on the receiving end of good questions was harder and better than I expected. 🧵

4/5 Peter asked the kinds of questions I try to ask my own guests on Reaching Higher — not just what you’ve done, but what knocked you sideways and what you’re still figuring out.

3/5 The book review nailed something I care about deeply: legacy isn’t built at the end of a career. It’s built daily. Small decisions. How you treat people when no one’s watching. Fingerprints on a future you’ll never see.

2/5 The profile is called “The Strange Disorientation After Success.” Which is exactly what the first six months after leaving Real Chemistry felt like. Not regret. Just the gap between relief and certainty being bigger than I anticipated.

There are 9 million children in America sleeping on the floor tonight. 9 MILLION! No bed, no mattress, no safe place to rest their heads. In the latest episode of The Reaching Higher Podcast, I sat down with Luke Mickelson, founder of Sleep in Heavenly Peace, to talk about what he calls "the pandemic of child bedlessness" — and the remarkable movement he's built to end it. Luke started building beds in his garage. Today, SHP has 400 chapters across all 50 states and has delivered over 350K beds to children in need. The clip below stopped me in my tracks. I think it'll do the same for you. 🎧 Link to full episode: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas… hashtag#ChildPoverty hashtag#Leadership hashtag#Podcast hashtag#MentalHealth hashtag#CommunityImpact

The Wrong Comparison - Stands Corrected standscorrected.com/the-wron… For those like @ZachLowe_NBA @BillSimmons and others who love Jokic like I do. Lost in the MVP debate is what this season does to his historical legacy. Finding it harder to argue he's not top 10-15 all-time.

Best-selling author, two-time cancer survivor and founder of @theMMRF, @KathyGiusti, sees three AI breakthroughs transforming cancer care: 1️⃣ AI imaging 2️⃣ AI drug development 3️⃣ AI matching patients to trials But her caveat? "Everybody's going to have an agenda… we all have to compromise on behalf of the patient." 🎙️ Reaching Higher Podcast (full episode) → open.spotify.com/episode/4Wi…

What does it look like when someone at the top of their industry decides to lift others up? Chef @AaronSanchez joined me on the Reaching Higher Podcast to talk about his #ImpactFund — a program born from seeing the lack of Latinos in executive culinary roles and deciding to do something about it. Young people are leaving home, moving to New Orleans and New York, and sacrificing months of their lives to become the culinary leaders of tomorrow. Aaron is making sure they don't have to do it alone. This one hit different. My good friend, book author and sports nut, @HemannChuck, has started blogging again. And the world will be a better place for it! Red Sox fans will appreciate this article because it talks about the challenges of batting a young, power hitter like Roman Anthony leadoff: standscorrected.com/the-walk… #redsox #mlb

Is #AI going to take my job? That is the question on a lot of peoples' minds these days. Last week, I sat down with founder and former CEO of @WomenWhoCode, @alaina Percival, and we talked about this very topic. She also shared how teaching herself to code sparked a mission that ultimately supported women across 147 countries. Now a venture partner at @valorvc, we also discussed her investing approach in B2B AI and software as a service focused startups across the U.S. South. We also address the impending global transfer of wealth to women. 🎙️ Listen to the full episode here: open.spotify.com/episode/3ae…

Today, I voted for the seventh time to reopen TSA and pay our agents and workers. Again, Republicans blocked it. They continue to hold TSA workers and American travelers hostage to protect ICE. We need to set ICE aside while we negotiate for needed reforms, and fund all other elements of DHS: TSA, Coast Guard, CBP, and FEMA.
