Matthew 1 makes a point to trace the 42 generations between Abraham and Jesus. But what I find interesting is that Jesus wasn't born from the seed of any man, but conceived by God through Mary the virgin. This appears on the surface to undermine that lineage.

JVM: "I never did understand a geometry problem by reading it over the first time. I had to study it. And I believe you'll not understand the Word of God the first time. Too many people put down the Bible...and say they don't understand it. Well keep reading it until you do."

Jeremiah 2:13 - "they've hewn out cisterns for themselves, broken cisterns that can hold no water."
Oh Lord let us not deceive ourselves into trying to find wholeness or satisfaction in broken, worthless things. Only you can make us whole.
