The CMS Innovation Center has announced its intent to continue a dedicated High Needs track under the new LEAD ACO Model, an important and welcome decision for patients with the most complex medical needs and the providers who care for them.

That is why preserving a distinct High Needs track matters. Caring for the sickest Medicare beneficiaries is fundamentally different, and policy should reflect that reality.
