Growing up in the West, I was always proud to be Persian because of our history, our culture, and what our ancestors achieved.
But after coming to Iran, getting married, having my daughter here, and living through war alongside millions of ordinary Iranians, I discovered something even greater.
I became proud of Iran today.
Not because of the past, but because of what this nation is still capable of. The resilience, the courage, the unity, and the determination of its people have reminded me that Iran is more than a civilization of history.
Iran is a nation very much alive. Will not bow down to anyone and stand up for the abused.
Proud to be Persian. Proud to be Iranian.
