Carrick might just be the one. He's got such a calm, composed aura about him - it reminds me of Ancelotti / Zidane at Madrid. At 2-2, I didnt accept that would be it, I knew we'd find something, knew we'd not give up. Its not about the subs, the formation or the setup - its about belief, confidence and attitude. Carrick is bringing that and these players are starting to realise their potential and play to it 🙏 We wont play like we did vs City or Arsenal every week but we have to find ways to win, rack up points and capitalise on results like Villa's today. #GGMU Another week of feeling great about Manchester United and optimistic 👌

Name me a team better than Manchester United at breaking win streaks, home records, unbeaten runs and now number of goals conceded records 😜
For the first time in 121 games, Arsenal have conceded 3 goals in a game. Super Michael Carrick. 🔝

Guys FFS... Its an opinion, I like him as a player. You really don't need to be so salty, angry and rude if you don't agree. Relax. Its not that deep.

One thing with Casemiro leaving, we cannot underestimate the value of having someone with his experience in the dressing room. He is like havingn a 2nd coach in the dressing room and on the pitch. I'm all for some wonderkid midfield signings but I'd love to add an experienced head to the squad to help with that leadership side. Two players that spring to mind that are available on a free are Leon Goretzka or Robert Lewandowski 🤔

Thank you for everything @Casemiro👏 A classy player on and off the pitch, an experienced, calm head that proved that class is permanent. 16 games left to fire us into the Champions League - that would be the perfect leaving present! 🙏🔴
ℹ️ @Casemiro will depart United at the end of the season, upon the expiry of his contract. A serial winner, we thank Case for his contributions in red so far and hope to finish his time at the club on a high together 🙏🔴

This fucks me right off. You could point to several stupid decisions like this that have gone against United this season. If the referee's and VAR did there jobs correctly we would easilly have 9 more points this season. Blatent incompetence. Some will say "but you shouldn't need the ref to win games" they are bellends. This was 100% a goal, anyone thats ever played the game will agree. Watch 50 goals like this get given between now and the end of the season.
🚨 Lisandro Martinez's goal for Manchester United against Burnley earlier this month should not have been ruled out by referee Stuart Attwell, the Premier League's Key Match Incidents (KMI) Panel has said. The panel felt that "the contact was exaggerated by Walker and the decision to disallow the goal for a foul was incorrect" "The decision not to intervene by VAR was split but supported on the basis it wasn't a clear and obvious error." In an alternate universe, the @goodbadftblpod would have gone something like this: Nicky Butt: "Right, we’ve got to start with the Derby. I’ll hold my hands up.. last week I was worried about the physical mismatch. I made a joke about Haaland picking him up like a toddler, and honestly, looking back, it was lazy. It was pub talk. What we actually saw on Saturday was a masterclass in center-half play." Paul Scholes: "Yeah, I’m with you, Nick. I said Haaland would throw him in the net, but Licha didn’t even let him get near the goal. I should know better than anyone.. I wasn't the biggest lad on the pitch either. It’s not about how tall you are; it’s about where your head is. His reading of the game is as good as any defender I played with." Nicky Butt: "Exactly. Look at the stats from the weekend. Haaland was substituted in the 80th minute because he was a non-factor. Licha didn’t try to out-muscle him in the air every time; he stepped in front, he nipped at his ankles, and he used that low center of gravity to win the ground duels. He finished with 100% aerial duels won against Leeds the week before, and he carried that same dominance into the City game." Paul Scholes: "And it’s the bravery, isn't it? He’s just come back from that knee injury, and he’s playing like he never left. He’s the heart of that dressing room. You saw him after the game, talking about the 'blood and DNA' of United. That’s what we want. We shouldn't be mocking the height of a guy who has won a World Cup and two Copa Américas by being exactly who he is." Nicky Butt: "He invited us to his house for a chat, and you know what? We should go. Not to argue, but to tell him face-to-face that he’s the standard. He’s the ‘Butcher’ for a reason. He’s the first name on Carrick’s team sheet, and he should have been the first name on ours too. Sorry, Licha. You’re a warrior." Paul Scholes: "Spot on. I’ll take that tea now, no sugar, because I've already had enough humble pie this morning."

I'm walking on sunshine today. That was brilliant to watch. The game plan was awesome and worked to a tee. It's amazing what happens when players actually apply themselves for 90 minutes. The usual accounts are using it as a way to point score against Amorim, which is really weird in my mind, so I won't bother even addressing that. All I'll say is that if you watched us play C115y off the park and your first thought is about the former head coach, that's without a job, then you need to go out and touch grass. Enjoy the win Reds. I know I'll be watching that game a few times again.

Harry Maguire. What a game, colossal header that set away Fernandes / Mbeumo for the first goal was 🔥 We've really really missed him and De Ligt, can only imagine where we'd be this season if that pair had been fit... the experience and calmness changed our whole defensive approach. Clean sheet 🙌 Huge respect

Huge game, huge result 👏 All this talk about writing off the season can get in the bin! Carrick has arrived! ➡️ Gameplan spot on, huge decision rotating Sesko & Cunha but worked perfectly. ➡️ Maguire and Casemiro both colossal today👏 ➡️ Dorgu, Mainoo, Shaw all great! ➡️ Amad, Bruno & Mbeumo causing HAVOC!! ➡️ Cunha AMAZING off the bench! ➡️ Martinez won EVERY SINGLE DUEL against Haaland. Kindly shut the fuck up Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes utter wet wipes. ➡️ Passion, fight and intensity was off the chart - this has been missing. Thats what a ex-player managing can bring! Time to rally the support, time to forget Amorim, stop point scoring and just enjoy supporting  Manchester United. This is why we ALL love the game and love this club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #MUFC

Spot on 👏 Fair play to @rioferdy5 for calling this out and actually explaining WHY Roy Keane has been disrespectful an why his comments on the coaches are stupid. I've spent a few days being abused for saying the same thing. Roy Keanes "standards" brigade and the knuckle dragging knobends that just love to bash the club jumped straight on his comments.. There is no problem at all with Jonny Evans joining the coaching staff for this exact reason Rio said. Roy himself did the same thing when he became a manager so he knows the logic behind it and it just proves with Roy, everything is for the camera's, for rage baiting engagement farming. Huge respect for @rioferdy5, I didn't have him down as the one to go against the other ex-players and call them out but if he's able to bring some perspective & pushback to the stupid rubbish they peddle then I'm grateful for him. Now, we have a game to look forward too, a tough one that needs all our support 👊
🗣️ 'Roy Keane is pointing at the wrong people!' Rio Ferdinand thinks his former-teammate has been disrespectful to more than one person at United this week 👀 🎧 Hear more on the Football Daily podcast feed on Saturday morning #BBCFootball #MUFC

Gary Neville and Roy Keane are a total and utter embarrassment to @ManUtd and need to just fuck off. Its like the Overlap and those two are competing with Scholes and Butt's channel to who can trash the club the most and win the award for most toxic ex-player.. 🤬🤬🤬 Michael Carrick has been interim head coach for 2 days and already before we've even kicked a ball under him you've got them trash talking him, pilling on pressure and ripping shreds of the coaching team. Its pathetic, its dripping with jealousy and pure ragebait engagement farming. Its does NOTHING to help the club they claim to care about. You've got that bitter twat Keane having a pop at Carrick's wife? Like WTF, its Day 2!! For those of you that don't know the history, Carrick's wife called Roy Keane out back in 2014 when Keane was busy throwing Carrick under the bus saying he was finished at Utd. She was right back then, Keane was a prick and still very much is. He's becoming the token joke act, playing up to his grudge-holding persona for the cameras. He trashes Sir Alex Ferguson and all the managers and players. Its not football insights, its just being a dick for the sake of being a dick. As for Gary Neville - such a wet fish. Changes his mind every week, contradicts himself at every turn. Wants Utd DNA, someone that knows the club, until his mate Keane disagrees and now its Ancelotti, Simeone? Whats more scary, is the board supposedly listen to these guys and consider what they have to say. If they do then they don't deserve any respect as 99% of what these guys say is pure entertainment, for TV, for the camera's. The only one that talks any sense on that show is Ian Wright. He constantly defends Utd, the players, the manager whilst they are busy trashing, piling on the pressure and bring the most wild, stupid takes. They are a massive part of the problem at this football club. Recently we've seen managers and players of Manchester United talk about the negative impact these ex-players are having, we've got rival managers and players all over the game that can see how toxic they are and mentioning it... and yet huge parts of our own fanbase are still here agreeing with them and adding to the pile on and toxic environment. As each day passes I have more and more respect for David Beckham and all the other ex-Manchester United players that don't feel the need trash the very club that gave most of them the most success of their careers.
Roy’s not buying it… 🤷‍♂️ Michael Carrick’s backroom appointments spark a reaction. 🫣

Fun Fact 🧐 Michael Carrick got the nickname "Havoc" from his Manchester United teammates back in the day when they used to play the game "SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs: Fireteam Bravo" on PSP's whilst travelling in-between games. The game was a team-based tactical, stealth, and action gameplay game that even Wayne Rooney talked about how much it helped bring the team together 🤯 Its now time for Carrick to Wreak Havoc as the new Manchester United interim manager 🔥 Lets go!
Michael Carrick is back 🤝 Our former captain is our Head Coach for the remainder of 2025/26 🔴

Michael Carrick was one of the most under-rated players ever at Manchester United. Under Sir Alex he was easily one of the Premier Leagues greatest ever defensive midfielders and yet so often overlooked when the accolades were giving out. People often talk about Paul Scholes but for me, it was Carrick next him that allowed Scholes and many other United players to do what they did and be the players we all know. I remember arguing with friends almost 15 years ago about his importance to United and how, when he played we looked and played so much better. He was an orchestrator and the foundation for so many trophies we won including 5 League titles and the Champions League in 2008. He played with an air of calmness, sophistication and class. If you had to compare him with any modern day PL player I’d go with Rodri. With over 464 appearances for United, a trophy cabinet to make any player jealous and learnings from Sir Alex, Jose etc he’s a very wise choice. He understands Manchester United’s DNA, he lived it, played it and won the lot for us. I’m a romantic, I loved Ole leading us… With Carrick I hope he smashes this interim stint, rides us into the Champions League and we convince him to stay beyond that. Offcourse it makes sense to go for Enrique, Flick, Ancelotti etc but I can't lie I'd love to win trophies under a United great like Carrick. The most important thing for me with this appointment, interim or not – PLEASE can fans respect him – even if he was before your generation, he IS a Manchester United legend. He was a key part in some of our happiest memories as a club in the last 30 years – 99% of the clips you see of United DNA / United teams under Fergie, Carrick was there quietly pulling the strings. And unlike certain ex-players he hasn’t taken to bashing the club in order to stay relevant. Classy on the field and even classier off the field. As a manger, he’s young, he had a good stint at Middlesborough, played some nice football; he’s not a senior experienced manager but he knows Manchester United inside out and the goal is crystal clear between now and the end of the season - secure european football. If he achieves 5th place that will be a great achievement all things considered. Let’s get behind him, support him, lose the bittiness and negativity that plagues this platform and give him every chance of succeeding.

Very tough to stomach this last week. The well of "sensible" ideas that give room for optimism is nearly tapped out. Watched that game and there were times when it felt like Ragnick's United. There's no point crying over spilt milk. The decision has been made and we have to live with it, but we got rid of a manager that the team was fully behind. The performances were there, while the results admittedly weren't. But over a season they right themselves. We've effectively been told that the season is over midway through the season again. Last year it was because there was a long term plan. This year, it's because feelings were hurt and the long term plan is less important than people's egos. It's all a bit shambolic. The interim manager needs to come in (fast) and get these players who will all be hurting and get them to believe in themselves again.

Shea Lacy - keep your chin up lad, at 18, I would have been as frustrated as you were and probably kicked the ball at the linesmens head. The loss is no way on you, another good cameo. Learn from it, move on and keep up the good work 🙌

It was NEVER the formation. The back 3 stuck 4 goals past Brighton. It was always the quality of our players, the floor of the squad, the depth is NOT good enough - it was so OBVIOUS to anyone. Sacking the manager, because he asked for some help, any help and telling him to change to a formation THAT IS NOT ANY MORE GUARENTEED to bring results was ridiculous. Still regardless who the manager is the squad still needs investment. This squad will struggle to secure top 5 or european football this season. I really really hope and pray the interim manager whoever it is, can galvanise us.. because right now its flatter than ever. Sensible fans are losing faith. I hope the 4231 works, I hope Mainoo steps up, I hope the players respond and try to salvage this season because right now its looking flat... Amorim Outers are the only HAPPY "fans" right now and that says everything about the state of this club and its "fans". Next up Man City, then Arsenal. A win against either could ignite the 2nd half of the season for us, need Amad and Bryan back and need to get to work on the training pitch.
