استشهاد القيادي في حزب الله اللبناني (علي موسى دقدوق) في جنوب لبنان علي موسى دقدوق شارك مع حركة العصائب في تنفيذ أكثر الهجمات جرأة وتطورًا ضد القوات الأمريكية خلال عام 2007 في كربلاء المقدسة في 20 كانون الثاني 2007 نفذ دقدوق مع حركة العصائب عملية داخل إحدى المنشآت المعروفة آنذاك باسم “محطات الأمن المشترك” وهي عبارة عن نقاط عسكرية تتواجد فيها القوات الامريكية والعراقية وكان هناك 20 جنديًا أمريكيًا في النقطة إذ تنكرت مجموعة دقدوق بزي فريق أمن عسكري أمريكي وحملوا أسلحة أمريكية وبعضهم كان يتحدث الإنجليزية ما ساعدهم في اجتياز نقاط التفتيش اقتربت المجموعة إلى مبنى فيه جنود أمريكيين وعراقيين وهاجموه فقـ تلوا جندي امريكي واعتقلوا أربعة آخرين ثم انسحبوا بسيارات رباعية الدفاع كانت في انتظارهم طاردتهم المروحيات الأمريكية وخلال ذلك أطلق دقدوق ورفاقه النار على الجنود الأربعة الذي اعتقلوهم وقتـ لوهم في اذار 2007 اعتقلت القوات الأمريكية دقدوق وضل معتقلا لدى الامريكان قبل ان يسلمه الجانب الامريكي للسلطات العراقية في كانون الأول 2011 الذي اطلقت سراحه لكونه لم يصدر بحقه أي تهم في العراق الامر الذي اغضب الولايات المتحدة حينها
