Doing my bit to help raise awareness of the dangers of problem gambling. Featured on @AtTheRaces during Safer Gambling week. Last bet - 21st March 2020 🙌🏻
(THREAD)
As some of you will have seen from my post on Wednesday, I was handed an amazing opportunity to do some filming this week with @AtTheRaces in relation to Safer Gambling week. As promised, here is the full 5 minute feature that was sent through to me this afternoon 🎥
I was invited in to BBC Radio Sheffield this morning for an interview on my experiences with gambling. As a lot of you already know, it’s something I’m still really passionate about and I’m always grateful for opportunities like this one 🙂

5 years without gambling ✅
2 photos of the same person but both tell completely different stories. Biggest milestone yet and I don’t mind saying it’s the one I’m most proud of. Living my best life these days and I’m so grateful to everyone that’s helped make that possible 💙
With how I was feeling before Cheltenham, I thought I’d really struggle this week. Watched a few replays Tuesday night after work and found myself really enjoying it and that feeling stuck through the week.
And this time next week, I’ll be 5 years without a bet. Some feeling 🥹
Cheltenham week is still a difficult one for me. Nearly 5 years without a bet but this week in particular makes me feel weird.. almost like I’m missing out? Recovery is class and I’m a much better person because of it but isn’t it mad how those old feelings can creep back in..
A mixture of emotions and it’ll be a tough week but I’ll get through it like always. The excitement for this week always used to be great but it wasn’t worth how shit it felt Friday tea time when I’d lost everything.
Messages are always open if anyone wants to talk, take care 👍🏻
Never once has my friend been asked for an Affordability Check?
Yet when you win - You cannot shake them off you.
Says it all to me. Absolute farce of a system.
Not posted anything on here for a couple of months so just a quick update for anyone that cares, recovery is still very much intact and going really well.
Closing in on that 5 year milestone which will mean so much to me. Life’s good, hope everyone is ok 👍🏻
Yorkshire Marathon 2024 ✅
Completed my first marathon in 03:18:35. Plan was to start steady and get quicker towards the end but I ended up doing the opposite🤣 unreal experience and even happier that I’ve now managed to raise over £1000 for charity!
So bloody grateful 👏🏻
With just 10 days to go until his half-marathon, @Adam_TFSID is less than £100 away from his fundraising target.

Sub 1:30 half marathon ✅
Today was my 10th half marathon and whilst it’s the hardest I’ve ever had to work during a race, it’s easily the most rewarding! Official finishing time was 1:28:41 and I finished 127th out of 1700 people 🏃🏻♂️
Honestly couldn’t be happier 😁
Half marathon PB ✅
Leeds half 2024, 1:31:14. Really didn’t think I was still in PB shape after running Sheff last month but here we are! Heat was tough for last few miles but happy that I stuck at it and kept the pace going 😁
All roads lead to sub 1:30 at Derby in 7 weeks 💪🏻
Half marathon PB ✅
12 week plan, 40 training runs and over 350km covered.. and I beat my personal best by 17 minutes this morning! I honestly can’t believe it. Mentally and physically, I’ve never felt better and I think that showed today 😁
Hard work really does pay off 💪🏻
345 days
376 marathons
£380,995 raised for charity

7 days out from being the first person ever to run the entire length of Africa🫡
4 years without a bet ✅
And it’s been the best 4 years of my life! I had zero confidence early on that I’d be able to keep this up, so to reach a milestone like this really means a lot. So much has changed in my life for the better during that time and I couldn’t be happier 🙂
