I've just devlogged tons of details about OUTSIDE PARTIES, my upcoming #horror scavenger hunt for @playdatedevforum.play.date/t/outside…
You're searching a single MASSIVE grayscale HDR image that zooms up to 1.5 gigapixels.

Outside Parties, my upcoming “hidden object” horror scavenger hunt game (with an audio component inspired by numbers stations) is coming along well for 2023 #Playdate release. For further updates on the project, follow me on Mastodon or check my website (or Panic’s dev forum).
Found this gadget by the side of the road. I don’t have a great feeling about it, but I’m really curious. I think I’ll see if I can activate it.

Some people have asked when Playtime will be out… It’s out! Itch.io has the release date wrong (as the date it 1st entered development) so it won’t be under Most Recent—just search for the name or “playdate clock.”
I’m considering an alarm clock function next…
Playtime is an incredible collection of more than 40(!!) clocks for Playdate—from readable and useful ones, to funny and experimental creations. Essential and wonderful! The time to get it is now ⏲

My Playtime Weird Clocks collection for @playdate has been released. Over 40 clocks of all kinds, with a musical crank! Launch sale: 35% off. adamsimmersive.itch.io/playt…
Here's the final preview of some clocks in Playtime (adamsimmersive.itch.io/playt…) coming this week for Playdate. These ones are styled like screenshots from games. The hour digits "12" take up the whole background. The minute digits "03" are in front of that.
A preview of some of the weirdest clocks in Playtime for Playdate (adamsimmersive.itch.io/playt…). Fear not! Each one has an illustrated guide built into the app. They're all fairly easy to read once you "get" them. Releasing soon!
Next, here are some analog clocks from my Playtime clock app for Playdate (releasing soon at adamsimmersive.itch.io/playt…). The circles are sized in the Golden Ratio.
My Playtime clock collection for Panic's Playdate is almost ready for release on itch (adamsimmersive.itch.io/playt…). I'll be posting previews of some the included clocks—analog, digital, and low-state—starting with these digital ones. (The first one reads "11:59," 24 is the date.)
If you like Terry Gilliam’s Brazil, you’ll love my illuminated @playdate setup: magnified > 2× while appearing at its true distance behind the Fresnel lens. iCade controls work via Mirror (w/ driver limitations). Also works as a lap holder for the lighted lens w/ hands on the PD.
A look in my upcoming Playtime clock app for @playdate. (The collection is not yet final—it will grow to include even weirder experiments!) My custom font: PlayDIN 19.
Screen on @playdate looks great to me! Some have advised a well-lit LOCATION, but it’s more about ANGLE. This is in a dim corner of a room lit only by leak around closed blinds. Still playable—at the right angle. (And it's a pretty broad angle, not hard to keep.) @TYMplaydateshow
The screen is just what I expected: deep black on silver. Really weird… which I really like. And in bright light, the silver is nearly white. Also love the feel: dense like a little ceramic tile, with an unusual matte texture. That's my review… of a not-yet-charged Playdate!
(I'll be posting later about my upcoming Playdate clock collection, Playtime, and a horror-themed game as well. My website has some info on the meantime. Loving the SDK!)
TETRAD: another third-party Apple Watch face you can run in your Watch’s browser. Only 4 lights! Center light = hour: lit if nearest hour to/past is odd. Outer lights = minute hand to the nearest :10. Includes 18 different styles and 96 color combos. adamsimmersive.com/apps/thir…
In theory it should be readable with severe vision impairment—anyone want to test? This image compares a couple of the Tetrad styles with Apple’s clearest digital face. Hour is odd, so center is lit. The nearest minute light is at :10. (TWO minute lights are used for :20 etc.)
