This. All of it. Considering the Power 4 is practically its own division. The rest of D1 can't reach those financial levels.
Good info from recent @NCAA D1 Ticker—The college sports industry is operating under a deeply flawed financial model, according to James Moore & Co. Partner Katie Davis. Davis warns that many D1 athletic departments are facing an unsustainable structural deficit, where administrators are masking massive budget gaps with university subsidies and borrowed money! Davis adds: “The opportunity isn’t to save college sports. It’s to finally manage it like something worth sustaining!” Mike Racy observation - I can’t believe there are still consultants out there suggesting that @NCAADII schools should move to D1. Seems like financial malpractice to me!

April is Autism Acceptance Month. There are many autistic folks in and around college athletics. All the love and respect in the world to them.

This is everything.
Sportswriters, journalists, beatwriters are not fanboys of the teams they cover. Some get to cover teams they grew following, some don’t. The job is the same. Don’t be an imbecile.

Not sports related, but I will keep it brief. Six years ago, my daughter suffered a massive seizure. It was life-threatening. She pulled through and I feel blessed every day because of it.

Major win.
Down goes NYU. The Violets’ 91-game winning streak comes to an end, with Scranton beating NYU 60-52 to advance to the NCAA D3 national championship game. It's NYU's first loss since March 11, 2023, when Transylvania defeated the Violets in the Elite Eight.

Shout out to the coaches that actually earned their jobs and weren't handed them via nepotism.
Steven Pearl on Auburn's resume and the urgency needed in Nashville: "We have enough quality wins to be deserving to be in this Tournament but we understand that we've got to go to Nashville and we've got to make a run just so we don't have to be sweating it out on Sunday."

An Olympic gold medalist. Highly educated. Insufferable is a phrase that should be saved for irrelevant, has-beens. Like Norman. I refuse to call a grown man Boomer. Modern media is this, now. Say the most asinine things for attention and hope the neanderthals love it.
"She’s a very attractive woman and she’s extremely bright, she went to Stanford. But if you listen to her post participation interviews, she’s insufferable" - Boomer Esiason on Eileen Gu

Honestly, salute the head coach that takes time to acknowledge event staff.

I find it funny that all of the "keep politics out of sports" people are silent together and justifying stupidity.

I interviewed Wes about UT football. He was passionate about his job but lived for his family. He was a good man and damn good media member. We always joked about this. Keep his family in your thoughts.
