The annual count of apparent occupied urban #Kittiwake nests in #Scarborough completed! An increase of 19.5% on 2025 with a grand total of 1,323. Let's hope the @northyorksc Gull Strategy gives these beautiful urban gulls a positive future

A nice tour of #Yorkshire today.
The morning spent birding with an old mate @AndyMbirder searching the gravel pits of Finningley, 2 Temminck's Stints the stars. Family visits in Barnsley then a slight detour on the way home to Nosterfield for two stunning White-winged Black Terns

One of my most wanted birds on my recent Antarctica/South America trip was Magellanic Woodpecker, having dipped this species 22 years ago in Chile. A wonderful treat to bump into a family party at Tierra Del Fuego National Park in January.
