The Insecurity in Igboho and Igbeti is not a new thing and this before the Oriire LGA, Abduction happened, people who travel along that Kishi axis sometimes get kidnapped and they are usually being taken to the mining site in the Old Oyo National park.
The mining activity going on there makes it a camping trip for terrorists to use, it is a direct hub for monetary values and also people being kidnapped is a value added incentive for them as criminal elements. The FG and State needs to take a decisive actions in the old Oyo National park, from the traditional rulers, to the Chairman of the Illegal mining site (Alhaji Sidi), to the youths in that community, there must also be a permanent ban of Motorcycle alone that corridor pending the threat levels have been resolved.

Engineer,you know what KPU and the security teams should have done since the Oriire incident is to tighten the entrance of the Town and restrict movement transportation to the town at night but no they’re arresting peoples that stay outside by 10,as if that’s the solution
I posted that yesterday when it happened, the town and everywhere is in chaos since the incident happen.

UPDATED: Fresh Attack on Kishi-Igbeti Road Claims One Life
A suspected bandit ambush around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026, along the Kishi-Igbeti corridor in Oyo State has left an electricity worker, Moshood Kayode ("Mr. Kay"), dead and several others injured after gunmen opened fire on a moving vehicle.
The latest incident adds to growing concerns over insecurity around the Old Oyo National Park, which residents say is increasingly serving as a haven for kidnappers and armed gangs.
The area has witnessed a series of violent incidents in recent months, including the abduction of four travelers, the killing of five park rangers in January, and the reported detention of kidnapped schoolchildren and teachers within the forest.
Residents are demanding urgent military and police operations to flush out criminal elements and restore security along the Kishi-Igbeti axis before more lives are lost.

The news about the attack is correct and has been confirmed, the Deputy Governor of Oyo State visited Kishi to assess the security situation of that place and the areas include Kishi and Igboho.

I’ve been quiet on here lately, largely because X has become too loud and too unruly. Meaningful exchanges of ideas are becoming harder to have. Someone, somewhere, will inevitably take offense or turn it into an insult-trading contest.
I’ve had multiple requests to bring back the interactive sessions. They were paused because life happened (career, family, and other time commitments). It will take a serious effort to get the session up and running again.
That said, stakeholder-level discussions are ongoing, and in shaa Allah, we’ll have an announcement soon.
In the meantime, there are many knowledgeable and righteous brothers and sisters on the TL (based what is apparent) from whom we can all benefit. Let’s endeavor to respect knowledge and effort. Don’t be the layman arguing with the expert.
May Allah reward us all.

If Oyo State gets a state of emergency over insecurity, other states like Kwara, Zamfara, Ondo, Ekiti, Borno, Niger, and Katsina will fix their kidnapping issues. The President must be proactive. Use one state as an example, or governors won't sit up and take responsibility.
