Had to let them sit in the struggle in order to persevere and problem solve with math today after our PD last week! I had them explore in groups to see where they would take it, then I offered a strategy after the efforts. I was impressed to see them approaching with open minds!

Using the 3 reads protocol and manipulatives in our math small groups with word problems! 💡They were on their third read, whispering reading! This protocol has really helped my Firsties unpack word problems and solve them! We ❤️ the 3 reads protocol!

1. Students engaged in a friendly snow ball fight
2. They had to plot that number on a number line
3. Then run to the appropriate number
