Admittedly nerdy post for our World Cup fans:
1. What is each team's most likely path to the WC title based on its group-stage finish?
2. And what group-stage matches will have the biggest impact on the tournament and are most worth buying tickets for?

I'm still writing my report on the Dublin Central bye-election.
Every time I think of something new to look at. It will end up roughly as long as Ulysses but marginally less comprehensible.
In the meantime, here is the map of Daniel Ennis' vote....

(Secret meeting of the "It's way too hot" club will take place today in a darkened room. Under NO circumstances let a "normal" person know this, otherwise we'll get rants about "talking the good weather away" and get looked on as an unappealing mix of Stalin and Attilla the Hun.)

Galway West by-election, Count 11/Final Count:
From the First Count, Noel Thomas gained 6,512 votes in transfers over the following ten counts while Seán Kyne gained 9,571 votes in transfers, allowing him to win the seat with a 2,699 vote margin
Seán Kyne wins in Galway West, a very rare win for a government party candidate in a by-election contest and an even rarer government party pick-up
As was expected, the Helen Ogbu transfers greatly favoured him, although well over half of her votes were non-transferable
