Images circulating show one of the engines separated from the UPS MD-11 on take-off from Louisville.
The NTSB's investigative team is scheduled to arrive in Kentucky on Wednesday.
Louisville Metro Police Dept Chief Paul Humphrey said that the crash site will be "an ongoing active scene for the next several days".

This investigation is unlikely to amount to anything. The crew preformed 2 go arounds at its destination and then diverted to its alternate where it also went around.
