In 2008, an African grey parrot called Yosuke escaped from his cage and went missing near Tokyo.
Police found him and tried for hours to make him speak, but the bird stayed completely silent.
Two days later, while at a veterinary clinic, he suddenly spoke up: “I’m Yosuke Nakamura,” before clearly reciting his full home address.
The vet alerted the police, who went to the exact location and located the Nakamura family. The owners explained they had spent two years teaching him his name and address just in case he ever got lost.
Yosuke was happily reunited with his family after showing he simply didn’t feel like talking to the cops.
