Time to activate that old site and be ready for when a message drops in the DMs 🤣 No, but seriously this story is so wholesome ☺️
Cabo Verde's starting center back Roberto Lopes was recruited to the team via an unsolicited message on LinkedIn. No, really. reuters.com/sports/soccer/ho…

Breaking News from @TheAthletic: In one of the most shocking results in World Cup history, Cape Verde held European champions Spain to a goalless draw, thanks in no small part to a heroic performance by their 40-year-old goalkeeper, Vozinha. nyti.ms/4vHHiiM

Absolute delight convo. If you can watch it too as it delivers extra experience seeing both Mishal and Gary interact and chat about football, World Cup, BBC, Netflix and future of podcasting and journalism
Latest episode - in which @GaryLineker becomes the first guest not to remember his own book :) We also talk about our Olympics experience, way back! Photo credit: Jason Alden/Bloomberg Listen here⬇️ podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcas…

When do we call what we are seeing happen for what it really is? Or we are just ignoring it, “nothing to see here” despite what we are seeing with our own eyes? Sure, Jan 👀

“Erling looks great with his hair down, but I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of the coach Stale Solbakken. BBC gets loads of flak but it really does bring us so much. Believe in magic as a podcast a few years ago was elite, and now settling in for a 3-part docu series on iPlayer (one of the most slept on streamers if you ask me. Treasure trove if you are keen 😆)

The mother of all cons (title of the new iPlayer docu series) blew my mind 🫣 and I knew the story from the Believe in magic podcast from a few years back. If you can, find it and watch it. If you can’t (sorry about that), look for the podcast and then read up on the story 🤯

I’m sorry @netflix, but we needed the 2010 French team World Cup docu in cinemas 😳 I’m dying here reliving that wild era 🤣 By 5th minute, we are on a ride (we aren’t on the infamous bus yet 😂) By 8th, absolutely floored because what do you mean astrology 😂 I’m locked in 💃🏾

Okay. So it was funny and wildly so. In parts. But then you get to the end and you see what a bloody gut wrenching saga this ended up being for so so many talented Black players. Certain people in this docu 👀 (ntacyo mvuze)

With this logic, Ms White, shall the English FA sack the current coach? Or ancestry of team’s coach doesn’t matter in your eyes? By the way… this is a legit and genuine question
You should have ancestry from the country to represent the country. Common sense.
