I heard about the arrest of @Wangchuk66, an Indian scientist who represented our country worldwide and created many inventions to make our lives easier. If you don't know about him then do you remember the movie 3 Idiots which is based on his life, not a true story or biography but the character of Phunshuk Wangdu is the character of Sonam Wangchuk. This is my all time favorite movie. The man who is the founder director of "Students Educational and Cultural Movement of Ladakh (SECMOL)", a school where students learn not only from books but also through practicals. (You must have seen this school at the end of the movie 3 Idiots where Farhan and Raju go to find Rancho). • The man who was invented "Ice Stupa" a technique to store wasting stream winter water in a giant cone shape structure. Which will release in late spring when farmers needs water. • Founder of Ladakh Voluntary Network (LVN), a network of Ladakhi NGOs. • He have worked as an education advisor for MS, a Danish NGO working to support the Ministry of Education for education reforms. • He have invented solar powered tents for Indian Army that can trap heat during the day time and can warm the soldiers in night. • In response to the clashes on the India-China border, he started calling for a boycott of Chinese products, which later led to the government also calling for a boycott of Chinese products, which was started by Sonam Wangchuk. This is not the end, he has done a lot for our country so if I try to cover everything then this post will become very big. In March 2024, he started a fast-unto-death to press for his demand for constitutional safeguards for the Union Territory and protection of Ladakh from industrial and mining lobbies. And he have held two or three protests to protect climate change, and these protests were "peaceful protests" with no violence or vandalism. But the government remained silent on these protests and didn't even listen to Dr. Sonam Wangchuk's voice. And on 26 September 2025, the government arrested Sonam Wangchuk under the National Security Act, saying he had received funding from China, Pakistan and several other countries. The only thing the government has is that if someone says something against me it means he has got funding through someone, they don't see the reality why someone is saying this, solve the problem, instead of this, the government will say "YOU ARE GETTING FUNDING FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY". Government are throwing mud on Dr. Sonam Wangchuk reputation, and this is unacceptable. 🧵
