Great service from security @bhx_official today - no trouble to do a hand inspect and x-ray bypass for my film. There seems to be some understanding now of the risks posed by new CT scanners being deployed.
(If they say you can leave laptops in the bag, it's CT scanner)

Big thanks 👍 to security at @LDNLutonAirport who were more than happy to hand inspect my rolls of film, and understood the threat from the new CT scanners.

We're re-launching our larger C-Type printing service (up to 50") soon.
Matt's dropped off a spare argon (blue) laser for the Lightjet 430 printer at National Laser Company, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA for overhaul - the blue has a limited life - a spare prevents downtime!
National Laser are the only company in the world who repair and rebuild the blue argon Laser for the Lightjet. They built and supplied the Laser originally to Cymbolic Sciences who designed and made the Lightjet printers.
Remember, when shooting colour reversal/slide film process E6, you MUST ask for a push or pull process if you have exposed differently to the box speed, otherwise the results may be unusable (unlike colour neg, where you would get away with it)

From our product image archives. It was one of the most extraordinary colour photographic products. An emulsion with 17 layers coated in 2 passes and a process so caustic they recommended suitable processors used only titanium for metal components. All images are original to us.
Sorry to see @SilverprintL has ceased trading. Although a competitor, they were part of the analogue landscape for years. With this in mind we will look to fill any gaps in our range to make up for the loss - please contact us with any suggestions.

latest from @ricohimaging_jp Very positive. Lot more detail about:
- reaction to project
- interest from corporations to support (Ilford? Fujifilm? Kodak?)
- their design ideas for the first camera and how this creates a route to future models.
A Nikon FA in pieces, free to anyone who wants it. Looks like shutter is present and ok, but no idea about working condition. We'll post it out if you cover the carriage or drop in and pick up.
Or it goes in the bin....
Ongoing cleaning and maintenance is of paramount importance in photo processing. Here, B&W film processing equipment is undergoing routine procedures to ensure quality and consistency.
A routine word of warning - CT Scanners are being introduced in the UK and around the world. These usually fog Photographic flm. Request hand inspection if CT. If no need to remove laptop, it's CT. simpleflying.com/uk-airports…
