FluxRETAP is a simple and computationally inexpensive method developed by Agile BioFoundry researchers that leverages knowledge embedded in genome-scale models to identify targets for genetic engineering, with the goal of increasing metabolite production. academic.oup.com/bioinformat…
1️⃣ Scientists adapted a DNA-editing tool to quickly insert and test new DNA designs in virtually any microorganism. The tool is now widely used to accomplish microbial engineering in non-model microbes.

Headed to the 2025 @TheBioMADE Member Meeting next week? Connect with the ABF's Jesse Colangelo and Taraka Dale at our booth to discuss ABF-developed #biomanufacturing products, tools, capabilities and partnership opportunities. biomademeeting.org/
New in @NatureCatalysis: ABF, @UCBerkeley researchers used a retrobiosynthesis approach to design and construct polyketide synthases (PKSs) to produce the commodity chemical valerolactam and other valerolactam derivatives. nature.com/articles/s41929-0…
Their work showcases the untapped potential of PKSs for making a wide range of compounds through biosynthesis.

We've developed strategies to produce exemplar target molecules associated with high flux metabolic candidates called beachheads.
Our collaborators can leverage these existing strategies to produce #bioproducts associated with the same beachhead, saving them time and resources.
The Agile BioFoundry's Christopher Johnson and Paul Adamczyk discuss our demonstrated bioproduct improvements and how this can be used in industry partnerships in this video: youtu.be/FI6dc8unrKg
