A change in routine can make it easier for medicines to end up within reach of young children. Whether you’re staying in a hotel, rental home, or with family, store medicines, vitamins, and supplements – especially those in gummy form – up and away and out of sight and reach. Congratulations to Lindsay DuVall Clarke on celebrating 21 years with the Alliance! Lindsay joined us in 2005 to lead our health programs and has since helped millions of older adults and caregivers access clear, evidence-based information to make informed health decisions. From supporting our annual @valvediseaseday campaign to advancing resources on the issues that matter most to older Americans, Lindsay’s leadership has been instrumental to the Alliance’s success. Reflecting on her 21st year, Lindsay shared: "I loved celebrating 10 years of Heart Valve Disease Awareness Day this year. It has been a privilege to watch it grow in partners, impact, and reach—activating more than 29 million people to date." As part of the Alliance’s 40th anniversary celebration, Lindsay selected “If You Leave” by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark because “it’s so emblematic of our teenage years and, of course, the closing scene in the classic 'Pretty in Pink'.” Pictured below is Lindsay with her children at Niagara Falls.

My latest @Forbes column for the @Aging_Research, "How Heart Specialists Benefit from Medicare’s TAVR Restrictions" at: forbes.com/sites/suepeschin/…. While @CMSGov creates national Medicare coverage policies, at least in the case of TAVR, professional societies such as the @STS_CTsurgery and the @ACCinTouch have played what health policy experts contend is an outsized role in influencing the specific conditions of coverage and data collection. And the reasons for that influence appear to go beyond clinical concerns and expertise. #Medicare #Heart #TAVR
